Constructing The Prime Web


You start with an empty checked square, and then begin to create the pattern by filling the first square up in the left corner. Thereafter you fill the horizontal row with this filled square, which is the pattern for the integer number 1. Then you continue with the second vertical row and add an empty square to reproduce the integer number 2. This gives you the pattern for the number 2, with one filled and one empty square.

Thereafter you fill the second horizontal row with this pattern. Then you continue with the third vertical row and add an empty square to reproduce the integer number 3. This gives you the pattern for the number 3, with one filled, one filled and one empty square. Thereafter you fill the third horizontal row with this pattern. And then you just go on like this as long as you like… This is the first way to construct the number web.
